IRI Intern and Apprentice Program

The Da Vinci Stars Program is for INTERNS and APPRENTICES. Our program similar to many internship programs available worldwide for students in high schools and universities. Here is a very brief overview. Contact us directly and learn more. Who are these Stars? YOU!
Internship Program
Purpose:
- Enable students to actively participate in a project for 6-month (semester-equivalent) periods (with potential for renewable and extendable periods)
- Enable direct enagement in projects involving research, development, application and commercialization.
- Promote learning and skill development within a STEM (STEAM) focus that matches with interests, current academic curriculum, and project needs/availability.
Activities:
- Opportunities in several STEM (STEAM) areas, consistent with Program and Project activities underway within both Intelligence Renaissance Industries (IRI) and TETRAD Institute (TETRAD, TI) - visit websites for further information (www.intelrenaissance.com, www.tdyn.org).
- Opportunity for internship activities to be entirely remote/online, or a combination of online/onsite.
- Open to students in USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, European Union, other non-EU countries in Europe, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, China and Japan, with consideration for applicants in other nations as well.
- As with most internship programs, participants are not paid a salary or wage during the program time. If there are extenuating expenses that will be part of the program activity, these will be ascertained and addressed beforehand with each participant.
- Participation in the composition and writing of formal, scientific, technical papers, presentations and reports is strongly encouraged and cultivated.
- Teamwork with members of TI and IRI staff, fellows, affiliates and mentors, and with other Da Vinci interns and apprentices, is strongly encouraged and the program actively provides ways to facilitate this collaboration.
- Specific structured work activities, in accordance with Company, Institute, and academic requirements, that promotes project management, self-responsibility, teamwork, critical thinking, ethics, and the scientific method.
Internship Qualification Requirements:
- Currently enrolled and matriculating full-time in high school or in university (undergraduate or graduate programs of study).
- Approval by your school.
Academic Credits:
- Da Vinci is designed and intended for providing appropriate credits that will apply toward academic fulfillment and graduation, in accordance with school/university policies.
Apprenticeship Program
Purpose:
- Enable participants to actively participate in a project for 6-month periods (with potential for renewable and extendable periods) of a STEM (STEAM) nature consistent with future employment objectives
- Enable direct enagement in projects involving research, development, application and commercialization.
- Promote learning and skill development within a STEM (STEAM) focus that matches with interests, current academic curriculum, and project needs/availability.
- Develop skills and relationships conducive to positive references and informative, proactive assistance toward future employment
Activities:
- Opportunities in several STEM (STEAM) areas, consistent with Program and Project activities underway within both Intelligence Renaissance Industries (IRI) and TETRAD Institute (TETRAD, TI) - visit websites for further information (www.intelrenaissance.com, www.tdyn.org).
- Opportunity for activities to be entirely remote/online, or a combination of online/onsite.
- Open to participants in USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, European Union, other non-EU countries in Europe, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, China and Japan, with consideration for applicants in other nations as well.
- Potential - depending upon availability of funding for such - for salary/wage compensation during the program time - all on an individual basis and dependent upon other Da Vinci requirements and commitments. If there are extenuating expenses that will be part of the program activity, these will be ascertained and addressed beforehand with each participant.
- Participation in the composition and writing of formal, scientific, technical papers, presentations and reports is strongly encouraged and cultivated.
- Teamwork with members of TI and IRI staff, fellows, affiliates and mentors, and with other Da Vinci interns and apprentices, is strongly encouraged and the program actively provides ways to facilitate this collaboration.

Apprenticeship Qualification Requirements:
- Sufficient basic academic and/or vocational qualifications
- Successful completion of interview processes.
Academic Credits:
- There may be potentials for "Continuing Education" credits, a matter for individual discussion.
Topical Areas Common to both Intern and Apprentice Training
- Molecular Biology and Computing - focus upon ROSETTA and also programming and applications work with SUMMIT and other supercomputer resources, particular re: VESID and SARS-CoV-2
- Virology - focus upon structural studies and molecular dynamics of SARS-CoV-2, in context of VESID project
- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry - focus upon topological and geometrical dynamics modeling, inverse methods and non-linear dynamics, all pertinent to VESID ands related applications
- Medical Technology, Instrumentation, Assays, Analytics - opportunities with RTR-PCR, SIMOA, backgrounds in LC and GC and MS instrumentation beneficial. This is for operations and training with MedAtrium.
- Clinical Medicine - Nursing and Phlebotomy skills, combined with patient interaction. Multilingual capabilities and multi-cultural / international experience is highly desirable.
- Public Health - informatics pertaining to tracing, tracking, and particularly Mutation Detection and Analysis; interaction with regional (e.g., county), state, federal, international management; education for members of the public in all demographic and cultural/linguistic groups.
- Information Sciences - focus upon machine intelligence and learning for Eyrie and MedAtrium in particular, including new application development that incorporates Geospatial Analysis and Intelligence
- Graphics and Media Development - all types of 2D and 3D graphics including animation, audio, and video design and production.
- Information Technology - server-farm management, database administration, GUI and front-end applications; note that software engineering and specific programming tasks are focused upon the other areas indicated here and all software engineering proceeds using XP, AGILE, SCRUM and similar project management methods
- Medical Information Systems - focus upon interfaces with Epic, Cerner, and other patient/institutional subsystems and resources
- Epidemiology - focus on epidemiological and related contact tracing and tracking
- Robotics - design, implementation, and integration of robotic units in context of diagnostics, testing, vaccines and other handling of medical and small-sample-object units.
- Business Development - funds growth and partnerships with individuals, companies, and public agencies, and including contract/grant/proposal development (with attention to public and private agencies and corporations)
- Marketing and Sales - focus today upon MedAtrium and Eyrie
- Grants and Contracts Management - focus on opportunities with industry, private foundations, and public agencies
- Subcontractor and Partner Management - focus on MedAtrium tasks (fabrication, customization, equipment-outfitting, installation, and support functions)
- Administration - focus on coordination, scheduling, and communications with contractors, partners, and third-party task-providers including in accounting, financial planning, sales, and software development
